Chaitra Palavi is an innovative leadership program launched in 2013 by the Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati, to create a platform for progressive farmers from across Maharashtra. Held during the auspicious Chaitra month, this annual meet brings together dynamic farmers who have demonstrated leadership in their communities and a willingness to share agricultural knowledge.
The program focuses on key issues such as climate-resilient agriculture, product marketing, and agri-allied businesses. Participating farmers are exposed to discussions around managing natural calamities such as droughts and floods, ensuring post-harvest management, and building Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs). Successful farmers and agricultural marketing experts are invited to share their experiences and strategies, enabling attendees to gain actionable insights.
Chaitra Palavi creates a collaborative environment where ideas are exchanged and innovations are encouraged. Farmers from different regions interact, learn about new technologies, and gain practical advice for enhancing productivity and profitability. This gathering has grown into a celebrated knowledge-sharing platform, equipping farmers with leadership skills to influence rural development.
By identifying and training future rural leaders, Chaitra Palavi strengthens the grassroots ecosystem of agriculture, echoing the Trust’s belief in empowering communities through informed and visionary leadership.
